Gov Emmanuel Is Benchmarking Int’l Best Practices In The Strategic Dev Of AKS

– AKS INFO BOSS, CHARLES UDOH

Governor Udom Emmanuel is benchmarking international best practices in his strategic development process of Akwa Ibom State.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Charles Udoh KSJ, stated this at the weekend, while appearing on a Live Inspiration Radio 105.9FM special interview prgramme – Umbrella Impact Show.

Udoh said, as a resourceful manager, with a wide range of experience from his years in the corporate world, Governor Udom Emmanuel has a development blueprint for Akwa Ibom that is futuristic with a careful and strategic planning process to ensure the sustainability of all projects and programmes embarked upon by the present administration.

He state that, having witnessed the devastating experience in some parts of the country such as Rivers and Lagos states with over-burdened traffic congestions occasioned by poor planning, it becomes imperative for the governor to think ahead and put out a road map that will contain the envisaged future traffic that will be experienced in some parts of the state in the nearest future.

He reiterated that, based on this realization, dual-carriages are earmarked for the Ibom Deep Sea Port, Ibom Industrial park and jetty development axis of Ikot Abasi, Eastern Obolo and Mbo due to the huge volume of traffic that will be attracted there in the near future, adding that it will therefore be out of place for any interventionist agency to now come into such an area to construct a single carriage road.

The Information Boss reiterated that, this was the scenario experienced at the Youth Avenue and the University of Uyo road, where the state government had earmarked and even commenced construction of the roads only for an interventionist agency, NDDC, to come in and mess up the area but for the commissioner for Works’ early interception in the case of the Youth Avenue construction.

He emphasized that all that an interventionist agency needs is a collaboration with the benefitting state so as to key into the strategic development plan on ground than to carry out an unsolicited haphazard work which in the end would erode the strategic plans of the affected state.

The commissioner who stated that the thrust of Governor Emmanuel’s ongoing second term political campaigns is “Completion Agenda”, maintained that with Akwa Ibom now on the economic world map as the second largest in foreign direct investment in Nigeria only second to Lagos, and the much acclaimed position of Akwa Ibom as the most peaceful state in the country, it is only expedient for the governor to ensure completion of all the life-touching projects ongoing in the state.

On the Ibom Airline, the Commissioner said, aviation development came in very vital in the 8 points completion agenda of Governor Emmanuel based on the current transport traffic in and out of the state, adding that Akwa Ibom is fast becoming a tourist and investment haven with the growing industrialization sector presently enjoying a boom of 15 industries within just three and half years of the governor on saddle.

He said in addition to completing all ongoing projects, the governor will also undertake rural and riverine area development as well as small and medium scale entrepreneurial development to stimulate businesses and grow the economy of the state.

The information boss who also touched on the significance of the governor’s visit to the Oku Ibom recently, where he presented the royal father with a brand new SUV Range Rover 2019 model, said Ibibio nation as the 4th largest ethnic group in Nigeria, was desirous of having a common traditional voice, hence, the recent coronation of the Oku Ibom and attributed the success of that epochal event to the person of Governor Emanuel whom he described as God-fearing, humble and peaceful.

He urged all Akwa Ibom People to queue behind Governor Emmanuel in the forthcoming gubernatorial election as the governor represents peace, light and prosperity.

“The election will be a battle between light and darkness, peace and war. The governor is light, the governor stands for peace. The other group is darkness and war. So vote for Governor Emmanuel who is light so that you will continue to enjoy, peace, security and prosperity”, Udoh stated.
